   Court No. 2, and the young star Federer [5], as expected, had the match under his control over the first two sets. In the 3rd set, Schalken [12] unleashed big forehands & accelerated his first serves. Because of that he led 4:1* (30/15), at 4:3 he had a double break point, but Federer fought it off with big serves and a break in game no. 9 proved to be decisive. He served out without any troubles his first, quite long awaited Slam semifinal. Their last meeting, H2H Federer 5-1.
