   [4] Henman’s fourth and last unsuccessful attempt to win the Wimbledon semifinal. On the previous three previous occasions he was playing against the best grass court players of the 90s, and more experienced guys (Sampras 1998-99, Ivanisevic 2001). This time the experience was on his side, but the seven years younger Hewitt [1] was clearly the best player at the time, and he was enjoying to play against serve-and-volleyers which he showcased against Henman also at Queens Club winning their both grass-court finals (2001 and 2002). That semifinal in 2002, turned into Hewitt’s festival of brilliant passing-shots from all four corners of the court. The Australian broke his opponent twice in each set. His advantage was even more visible than the scoreline would suggest, because he already led 5:3 in sets 1 and 3. Henman became the first Open Era player to lose four major semifinals not having played a final… Five years later in the US Open semifinal, Federer will beat Davydenko after an identical scoreline.
