   Even though Djokovic [1] was a four-time Wimbledon champion while his opponent was playing his first (and last) major semifinal, the Serbian victory wasn’t absolutely guaranteed – they had met twice earlier that year, and both matches (Doha, Miami) were won by Bautista [22] – in both he lost the openers rather quickly, then he survived tight 2nd sets and finished the deciders with authority. Quite remarkable that the first two sets of their Wimbledon semifinal repeated that pattern to some degree – Djokovic broke it in the middle of the 3rd set. At 3:2* (30-all) he won two points in succession with his least reliable shot – the overhead, then at *4:2 (15/40) he withstood the double break point, the second BP after a 45-stroke rally (!) finishing it with a backhand DTL winner. The ‘2:1’ lead in sets allowed Djokovic to relax in the 4th set, and he played his best tennis in it, yet he needed five match points on serve to close it out.
