   Monaco [29] waited almost five years for his fourth title, in the meantime losing 7 finals (all on clay). He was so inpatient that lost his composure at 4:2* in the 2nd set and the match was one hour longer than should have been. The crucial game came at *3:1 in the decider – Berlocq [55] suffered a knee injury, but gave his all, and Monaco held after 9 deuces withstanding four break points. “I’m very happy because I fought a lot, I practised a lot and I was thinking a lot about winning a tournament again. [It gives me] confidence and motivation.” said the champion.
