   Night session at main arena in New York, and changing of the guard in the American tennis as the 36-year-old Connors [6] loses to the 18-year-old Agassi [4]. Connors was at the end of his ~20-year-old career, Agassi at the beginning of his own which would last 20 years. I think the most important moment occurred at 5-all in the tie-break when Agassi played his only volley, from quite difficult position, and it was a winner. He took the breaker 8/6 and never looked back. The following year they will play again in the US Open quarterfinals, and that time the youngster needs five sets.
