    An example why Rafter [4] achieved so much at the turn of 90s and 00s despite his quite limited baseline skills. For the first 50 minutes he was outplayed by a natural clay-courter Lapentti [32], but trailing 4-6, *0:2 he saved three break points with very good serves as well as another break point at 2-all. Rafter was a superb athlete capable of hanging in there with constant attacking the net as a server and a receiver. Lapentti passed him many times, but ultimately Rafter’s perseverance and agility at the net gained the upper hand.
