  1. Voo de Mar says:
    Points won by each set: | 27-21, 33-24 |
    Unreturned serves:
    55 % Stich – 31 of 56
    38 % Ferreira – 19 of 49

The shortest Queens Club final in the 20th Century (57 minutes), could be even shorter, but Stich [9] leading *5:2 in the 2nd set relaxed himself too much. It was an ugly match, each player struggled a lot with returns, but every time when a break point occurred for Stich, he was able to play his best – 1993 it was the year he felt extremely confident on serve, he was focused on holding on faster surfaces, and didn’t care about wasted chances because the serve was helping him in winning majority of tie-breaks. “Not spectacular, just good enough to win,” said the 24-year-old German, “Every sport is getting faster, more athletic. If it’s so boring, then people wouldn’t come to see it.”

Stich’s route to his 10th title:
    2 Jeremy Bates 6-3, 6-2
    3 David Wheaton 6-4, 6-3
    Q Boris Becker 6-4, 7-6(2)
    S Jamie Morgan 5-7, 6-4, 8-6 – 4 m.p.
    W Wayne Ferreira 6-3, 6-4

☆ Stich trailed *3:4 in 2nd set, and saved all match points at *5:6 in the decider against Morgan,
for whom it was the best result in his career (in the quarterfinal he’d defeated Edberg)
