   [29] Tien’s first major quarterfinal after a shocking 6-4, 6-0, 6-3 win over Medvedev (a year before they’d played three very tight matches against each other); because of that I gave him reasonable chance to beat another Russian-native very tall speaker. In the 2nd set he saved a mini set point and came back from a 3:5 deficit in the tie-break. Only one point separated him from winning another tight set as he led 6:5* in the 4th – Zverev [3] gathered nine consecutive points then, and converted his fourth match point. The match played under the roof, the tie-breaks: 5/7 and 7/3.
